Quests

How it Works
The quest system is a fun and easy way to earn zeny, get various items and rewards. Each quest can be completed by drawing a quick comic or a picture of your GTRO character as he/she try to accomplish the goals and/or requirements for each quest. It doesn't have to be anything too fancy or too long. Creativity is what matters the most so please feel free to let your imaginations run wild!

For each quest you will be provided with a prompt and other details needed. The story and how you complete the objective is completely up to you. There are no time-limits for each quest, so you may choose to do them anytime at your convenience. Each quest may be done once per character.

Under each quest will be a section called "Party members," this shows you how many characters may participate together/be drawn in one quest. If you see a quest that allows more than one player, find someone to collaborate with for more fun!

Zeny rewards are added on to the usual submission type. For added incentive, everyone participating in the quest will receive 15k for every party member over one. That means if you perform the quest with a party of two, both participants will receive an extra 15k on top of the quest reward. If you perform a quest with a party of three, all party members will receive 30k extra on top of the reward.

Submit all arts to the quests folder in our gallery (the sub folders just serve as an archive).
Please comment in this journal once you finished the quest or else you will not receive your rewards (and include all party members)!

Custom Quests
GtRO is now allowing members to post up their own custom-created quests for 100k each! These are unlike the usual quest suggestions because they get to feature YOUR character(s)! This will promote more character interaction between players! If you are interested in creating your own quest, send a note to the GROUP (GateToRagnarok) with the following information:

Quest Name: (the name of your quest)
Description: (the description and what the player must do to complete the quest)
Party Members: (the suggested number of players required)
Suggested Reward: (you can leave this blank for the staff to figure out or give a suggestion with your own thoughts)

Here's an example:

Quest Name: Taking Care of Billy
Description: Billy has broken his leg and is bedridden for a few weeks. Unfortunately, he lives alone and cannot walk around the house on his own. He needs someone to help take care of him until his leg is better.
Party Members: 1
Suggested Reward: Nurse Cap

The GM and Kafra staff will review the quest for approval and make any necessary changes in order to make sure it's a balanced quest. Once it's approved, it will go on the quest board under the "Custom Quest" title! Check the quest board often to see who's posted a quest!

The quest will remain active until at least two parties have finished the quest. This may change in the future depending on how often other members perform quests.

QUEST 1: The Lost Doll

100,000 zeny + Poring Hat

Poring: This is the weakest monster in the game. Many players are fond of it because it is what most have leveled up on as a novice. Porings are looters, meaning they swallow up any items they may find on the ground, and then drop them again once they are killed. They come in a variety of levels and have different names depending on their colour.

Poring Island: This is a small island south east of Prontera inhabited by mobs of many different types of Porings

QUEST 2: Wanted: Steve

Party Members: 1-2
Reward:
150,000 zeny + 10x Battle Manual

Battle Manuals grant 10% more zeny for a submission. Use up one of them in a submission, and you get 10% more zeny on top of what you'd normally get! If you wanna use one, make sure to keep your correspondence message when you submit to the group and leave a comment on there stating that you'd like to use one of your manuals. Battle Manuals do not stack and you can only use one battle manual per submission.

Steve is a paladin who is wanted for inhumane crimes. Due to this huge size his armor doesn't fit correctly and his Peco hates him, but don't let this sloppy lifestyle fool you! He is on the run and it is up to you to catch him! Do whatever it takes to bring this criminal to justice!

Draw your character apprehending Steve. The outcome of this event is solely up to you - Steve can live or die, surrender or fight, etc, but both your character and Steve must be drawn in the image/submission. Be creative and have fun!

QUEST 3: The Golden Drooping Cat

Party Members: 1-3
Reward:
200,000 zeny + Drooping Cat

A mysterious high priest has asked you to find and bring back a drooping cat for him. However, it is no ordinary drooping cat; it is a golden one..! And it can only be found deep within the caverns of Abyss Lake level 3, atop the pile of treasure.

Draw your character retrieving the golden cat doll amidst all the monsters that surround level 3 of Abyss Lake. A party is recommended. Are you up to the challenge? Bring the cat back to the high priest and you will be rewarded with 200k zeny and a drooping cat.

QUEST 4: Orc Baby Sitting
Party Members: 1-2
Reward:
100,000 zeny + taming item of choice (required for quest 5)

Orc parents have decided to hire a human baby sitter to look after their Orc Baby, for other orcs do not meet their standards of taking care of their child. Unfortunately, the Orc Baby is just what you'd expect; ugly, obnoxious, and causing trouble any way it can.

Draw your character being tortured taking care of the Baby Orc. You are welcome to bring a friend to suffer with you. After all, what's more fun than baby sitting with someone else?

This is a prerequisite for quest 5.

QUEST 5: Pet Suggestion
Party Members: 1
Prerequisite: Orc Baby Sitting
Reward:
75,000 zeny + Jumping Poring

A group of orphans want pets to take care of. The age range of the orphans is wide, so it's not just little kids to think about. Despite that, the general consensus is to have a pet that "has a cute face and bounces". There are a number of pets that can fit a vague description like that, though it's up to the quest taker to decide.

Find and tame a pet that you believe fits the description of "having a cute face and bounces." You should have the taming item from quest 4 (even if you have a spare taming item laying around, you still must finish quest 4 before doing quest 5).

QUEST 6: Lost in Love
Party Members: 1
Reward:
80,000 zeny + Bongun Hat or Munak Hat

A Bongun is lost in the last level of Payon Cave after retrieving a Punisher from the MVP to surprise his beloved Munak, who is anxiously waiting for him on F4. He asks that you lead him back to her. Can you avoid the MVP, who is not so friendly with humans as she is with the other monsters that reside in her cave? (whether you run into the MVP or not is up to you, along with any other obstacles; just try to have fun!)

QUEST 7: A Doll to Remember
Party Members: 1 (2 for designated quests)
Reward:
100,000 zeny (150,000 for the designated party quests)
Requires completion of Quest #1 to take

"Oh! You're the adventurer who helped find my doll! Thank you so much for that! By the way, I have a question... I want to help my Mommy make a new doll, but we can't get the ingredients for it. Can you help us? If you do, we can make you one as thanks! It'll depend on the items you bring, though..."

Players must venture out to collect ingredients to for the Little Girl. In addition, players can also grab additional special ingredients to make a particular doll hat for themselves. Upon completion, the player will be rewarded with Zeny and the doll hat that was collected for. Only one doll hat can be claimed, per character.

As an example: If a Character B helps Character A collect the secondary ingredients for a Doll Hat, Character B will not get the Doll Hat unless they collect the mandatory ingredients for themselves. Characters who have already completed the quest and received a doll hat can help out those who wish to earn the doll hats that required a party. They won’t receive any additional doll hats, however.

QUEST 8: Cleaning up Comodo!
Party Members: 1+
Reward:
300,000 zeny + Long Octopus Balloon + 2 Takoyaki*

*_{Takoyaki (GtRO Effect): When working with others on a submission, gain +3% more zeny per person for everyone if the submission is fully completed. Does not work with solo entries, but stacks with manuals. The effect caps at a maximum of 5 people working on a common goal.
(Basically, this item will reward a player for working with others. For example, a group of 5 decide to work together. If takoyaki is used and everyone does their part, everyone involved will gain 15% more zeny for their effort. If one cannot submit theirs, misses the deadline, etc, the bonus will not apply.)}

Comodo is indeed a city that never sleeps, but the part they don’t mention is the filth! No, I don’t mean that kind of activity… Being a party city means it is rife with litter, and it can attract unwanted critters! Please help us keep a nice and tidy beach!

Players are given options on how to help beautify Comodo. Completing, at least, two options will allow access to the final portion of the quest.

QUEST 9: Bust the Rigged Races!

Reward:
150,000 zeny + 1 choice out of the following: Censor Bar, Cap of Blindness, Brown Paper Bag, or Deviruchi Headphone

Lately, there has been a rash of complaints toward Hugel’s Monster Races. Deviruchis aren’t dashing! Porings are plodding about more than usual. Bapho Jr. is acting bratty… Even the Lunatic is… Well… Being a lunatic. The peaceful town has normally been welcoming and accommodating to tourists, so something must be quite off… But one who isn’t a native of Hugel would be spotted easily.

Wanted!


Depict your character routing out one of the culprits above rigging the Hugel Monster Races. The only requirements of this quest is that players must disguise themselves as a resident/regular NPC of Hugel and both the designated criminal AND the participating player(s) must be depicted in the submission. The outcome of this quest is entirely up to you. The criminal can be captured, escape, live, die, etc. The disguise could extend to any NPC in Hugel… Be creative and have fun!

QUEST 10: Trouble on the Turbo Track
Party Members: 1
Reward:
200,000 zeny + 1 Choice out of 4 colored Wigs (Fantastic, Happy, Marvelous, and Shiny)

Help! My Baby! A Peco Peco was spooked by the War of Emperium activity around here! It caught my stroller and drug it inside! The Peco Peco made it out, but my Baby Girl is still in there! I’m not an adventurer, and neither are the Staff Members for the track… Please save my Baby!!

You must showcase your character braving the twists and turns of the Turbo Track to rescue a Baby Girl in her stroller. The only way out is to complete the Track and overcome the hazards. The suffering (or luck) of your character is completely up to you. The Baby Stroller is located in Area 5 of the Turbo Track, so brace yourselves!
